NERDiDoodles

I am really believing that baking does help releave stress, if not headaches. Even though I haven't been stressed, I've had some really bad migraines the past few weeks.

These lil nerdi guys & Ces asking me to bake cookies tonight was just what I needed. No migraine!

Cast Member Chubby Cheeks asked if he could share Dale's glasses so he could easily see & teach his Nerd friends how to make Mom's version of Snickerdoodle cookies.

As all the Nerds gathered around, Chubby Cheeks showed them the best Snickerdoodle recipe this side of Disneyland!

It was the one Mom always uses because it is Dad's favorite cookie...little did he know that it would be taken over by a kitchen full of Nerds! Chubby Cheeks first read off all the ingredients (Shhhh don't tell Mom we told everyone!)

• 3 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
• 1/2 tsp baking soda
• 1/2 tsp cream of tartar
• 1 cup butter, softened
• 2 cups sugar
• 2 eggs
• 1/4 cup milk
• 1 tsp vanilla
• 3 tbs sugar
• 1 tsp ground cinnamon

 
NerdiDoodles are serious business and Chubby Cheeks told all the other Nerds to really pay attention. Preheat oven to 350° & line cookie sheets with parchment paper.

To start off  you beat the butter for 30 seconds.

Add the 2 cups of sugar...wait a minute, Pluto we know you are sweet as sugar and might be 2 cups tall, but we need actual sugar!

Beat butter & sugar until fluffy...don’t overmix.

Add both eggs, one at a time...

then 1/4 cup milk & 1 tsp vanilla, beat well.

"Hey Pluto, did  you do that!?!" asked Mickey. And Chubby Cheeks answered for Pluto, "Whew...good thing he didn't on Mom's counters!!! Now back to business Nerds!"

Slowly add flour, baking soda & cream of tartar. Mom always adds a lil bit at a time, then turns mixer on slow and continues until the cookie dough is well combined.

Make sure to scrape down the sides of the bowl too!

Silly Minnie!

"Can I have some cookie dough please?" barked Pluto.
"Mom says you shouldn't eat raw cookie dough, but she can never seem to stop the girls from sneaking some!" replied Chubby Cheeks.

"So now the fun part begins," explains Chubby Cheeks.
"Chip & Dale will be in charge of the cinnamon & sugar coating."

Goofy was puzzled. He thought, this is not a Vinylmation I know of???
"This is Cinnabear, Goofy." laughed Chubby Cheeks.

Goofy chuckled too. He liked Cinnabear so much that he shared his glasses with him & wanted a quick picture!

Now back to the cookies...
Chubby Cheeks carefully showed the Nerds how to take a dollop of the cookie dough & place it in the cinnamon & sugar mixture. He explained that Mom never makes a rolled ball cookie even though her old recipe called for it. She uses a regular teaspoon from the drawer & scoops up about a 1" amount of cookie dough.

Once the cinnamon & sugar mixture is covering the cookie dough, carefully place on parchment paper lined cookie sheets about 2" apart.

See how Mom has them? No two are exactly the same...this makes them more fluffy when they bake.

Bake in preheated 350° oven for 9 minutes.Mmmm...these are gonna be good, thought Chubby Cheeks.

Chubby Cheeks had all the Nerds gather the cooling rack while the cookies were baking.

"Shhhh you didn't hear it from me, but you'll get a really good view from under there!" whispered Chubby Cheeks.

Silly Nerds...
Little did they know that Mom still keeps a close eye on them & Chubby Cheeks too!

All the Nerds then gathered the Claw...I mean the Spatula & then the timer went off!

Mom of course had to place the hot cookies onto the cooling rack.
"Can you smell them Daisy?" asked Donald.
"They smell wonderful," replied Daisy.
"Just look at all of them Chip." said Dale.
"Oh boy, our Mom is the best!" exclaimed Goofy.

Well if that wasn't enough of a surprise from Mom, she let Daisy & Minnie help make Nerd-sized cookies for Mickey & the Gang!

Minnie was so excited when Mom got out the special sprinkles!

"Mickey is just going to love these Mom!" screamed Minnie.
Mom let Minnie carefully place a cute lil Mickey sprinkle onto each cookie.

Mickey then saw the special sprinkles & he wondered what they were for...we would never tell! =)

Then Goofy wanted to make cookies. Mom took him over to the other counter & showed him more special sprinkles...

...ALIENS!!!

Mom carefully rolled lil balls of dough into the special sprinkles...

...and let Goofy place an Alien onto each one!

Even Donald had propelled over with his handy dandy hat to make sure they looked just right!
"Now don't forget everyone, these lil cookies only need to bake for 4 minutes as they are much tinier." explained Chubby Cheeks.

"Just look at that Dale, he thinks he needs to inspect Mom's cookies." quacked Daisy.

"I do Daisy, there should be just as many sprinkles on the bottom as there are on the top of the cookies." said Dale as he breathed in the yummy aroma of cinnamony, sugary goodness.

Chubby Cheeks called out, "Gather around Nerds...look at the awesome cookies we made, I mean Mom made!"

There was definitely no looking through "rose colored glasses" for these Nerds!

Then Minnie pulled Mickey aside & said, "Here you go Mickey, Mom let me help make these cookies just for you & the gang!"
"Oh boy, thanks Minnie...they taste Yummie!" exclaimed Mickey.

Then of course Mom wanted to take more pics of us with are fresh baked cookies!

"One dozen lil cookies & nine of us...hmmm maybe we'll share with Mom since she is so cool like that!" said Chubby Cheeks as the Nerds stood around the plate.

And here is Mom's NERDiDoodles & some Sugar Cookies! They just don't have the cinnamon added & voila you have nice fluffy sugar cookies too.

Chubby Cheeks asked, "Do you think Mom will let us have this plate of cookies too?"

"No silly, we have to share with the girls & oh don't forget Dad, remember these are his favorite!" exclaimed Chip.

All of the Nerds snickered & had full tummies. And at the end of their evening helping Mom & Chubby Cheeks, they wondered if Mom would notice they changed her famous Snickerdoodle cookies to NERDiDoodles!
